Location

Another tourist destination nearby is the town of Balchik (12 km), famous for its Botanical Gardens, the Palace architectural and park complex – a residence which belonged to the Romanian queen Maria in the early 20th century. Two of them are near Balchik, the first being the spectacular Lighthouse Golf Resort, 18 hole professional golf course designed by Ian Woosnam. Lately, Kavarna has been referred to as the Summer Rock Capital of Bulgaria due to the many rock concerts organized there every year. Especially popular in the region are the golf courses in the villages of Topola and Bozhurets, as well as the tennis courts where tennis tournaments are held regularly. The town has a small marina, a fishing base, a spacious beach and a resort complex nestled around a beach, with the charming name Oriole Valley. Some of the most popular natural sights near Kavarna are Kaliakra cape – a nature and archaeological reservation; and Yaila – a national archaeological reservation, combining archaeological remains and beautiful nature.

The Balchik and Albena regions have all prerequisites for the development of the golf and yachting tourism in this country. According to experts in this field, the climate in our country allows for use of the golf areas for almost 10 months of the year. The combination of intact nature, the nearness to the sea and modern sports facilities makes the area an increasingly popular tourist destination.
